REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, established in 1987, is only Public-General University in the upper Sindh to fulfill the educational demands. More than 6000 students are enrolled in its semester based regular graduate and post-graduate programmes in 24 teaching departments. It also registers candidates over 70,000 from 70 affiliated colleges for various Annual (Private and Regular) examinations at Bachelors and Masters levels.

SALU plans to automate its existing manual system of examinations. It intends to outsource the Project: "Computerization of Examination Systems" to a leading Software Development Company. The scope of work involves: (i) analysis; (ii) designing; (iii) development; (iv) implementation; (v) testing; and (vi) maintenance of the system with requirements and specifications of hardware and networking.

1. The proposals from intending vendors should reach the office of the undersigned by courier or registered mail by Tuesday, 20th May, 2008, duly supported by documentary evidence of their company profile, including: (a) Financial standing; (b) NTN Certificate; (c) Last 3 years' experience of development of similar undertakings and scope of work; (d) Level of technical expertise; and (e) List of references.
2. Only short listed companies will be invited to present their proposals and will demonstrated the proposed system to the Technical Committee.
3. Companies finally short listed will be registered with Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur for pre-qualification - which will be eligible for providing financial bids.
4. The contract will be awarded against the agreed ToR, subject to approval by the competent authority of the university.
