Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO) is an ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHAS 18001 certified company and is the largest single site Ammonia and Urea fertiliser producer in the Middle East and a leading expoter in the World Market. The company is located at Mesaieed in the State of Qatar, and operates 4 Ammonia and 4 Urea plant, with total capacities of 6,090 and 8,300 metric tons per day respectively and a Urea Formaldehyde Co. Counting upon its successful business experience in the course of the last 3 decades, and encouraged by the national vast reserve of natural gas, QAFCO embarked on further expansion of the plants (Qafco-V) including a Melamine Plant. The Company has over 1,000 staff from 29 nationalities and to meet its operational requirements, it has the following vacant positions:

1. PROCESS OPERATORS-UREA

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation of different units / areas of the Urea plants. The prospective candidate should possess Diploma education, minimum 5 years experience in the process operation of Urea and DCS Operation. Candidates having experience in Petrochemical industries with extensive knowledge in DCS Operation will also be considered.

2. PROCESS OPERATORS-AMMONIA & UTILITIES

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation of different units / areas of the Ammonia plants. The prospective candidate should possess Diploma level education, minimum 5 years experience in Petrochemical industries with extensive knowledge in DCS Operation will also be considered.

3. POWER STATION OPERATORS

The position is responsible for the operation of Power Station. The position holder should have minimum qualification of Diploma in Electrical Engineering and possess at least 6 years experience in the start-up / shutdown and normal operations of power stations; installation, maintenance, testing and / or operation of gas turbine driven generators, transformers, pumps, motors, batteries, battery chargers, PLCs, 66KV indoor / outdoor sub-stations, switchboards, oil / vacuum / SF6 gas insulated circuit breakers etc. Experience in operation of GE frame 6 gas turbines, Rolls Royce Avon gas generators, Speedtonic Mark V control system, Honeywell micro TDC 3000 operating system, etc will be an added advantage.

4. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIANS - FIELD

The position functions with in different Electrical Field Groups and the Workshop and is responsible for the maintenance of electrical equipment, switchgears, motors and troubleshooting. The position holder should have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and possess at least 5 years experience at chemical plant in installation and maintenance of low voltage 415V and medium voltage 3.3KV switchgears; 415V, 3.3KV and 11KV motors; battery, battery charger and UPS; low and medium voltage power cable, control cable, control system components, contractors, relays, timers, overloads, lighting systems, etc, Knowledge of area classification and hazardous area equipment is essential and knowledge in frequency converters, PLC's, motor winding and DC motors and the maintenance of electrical equipment, PLC, UPS and frequency converters is an advantage.

5. ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN - POWER STATION

The position is responsible for the maintenance of Power Station and Distribution System. The position holder should have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and possess at least 5 years experience in installation and maintenance of electrical generation and distribution equipment up to at least 132KV. Knowledge of hazardous area equipment and area classification is essential. Experience in maintenance of transformers, generators batteries , battery chargers, essential supply units, switchboards, oil and vacuum circuit . Must be familiar with cable fault finding equipment and fault-finding techniques. Knowledge in SF6 insulated 66 KV switchergear maintenance is a must. Knowledge in power system analysis, UPS, PLCs and Power Station SCADA system is an advantage.

6. INSTRUMENT TECHNICIANS - COMPRESSOR HOUSE

The position is responsible to carry out skilled troubleshooting , repair and preventive maintenance of field instruments and systems, mainly related to steam turbines, gas turbines and compressors, The Technician shall have skills in (1) Bently Nevada machine protection systems. (2) Honeywell TDC-3000 DCS, (3) PLC systems (preferably Triconex), (4) Compressor controls, (5) Servicing and calibration of various field instruments for pressure, temperature, level & flow measurements and control valves, (6) Knowledge of ISO systems and (7) good PC Knowledge. He must be fluent in both spoken and written English. Knowledge of GE frame 6 gas turbines, Rolls Avon gas generators and Speedtronic Mark V control system will be an added advantage.

The Candidate should have a Diploma in Instrument Engineering or equivalent with 5 years experience from process , preferably from an Ammonia / Urea fertilizer complex.

7. INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN - FIELD

The position is responsible to carry out skilled troubleshooting repair and preventive maintenance of field instruments and systems, mainly related to the Ammonia / Urea plants. The technician shall have good skills in: Honeywell TDC-3000 DCS and PLC systems preferably Triconex & FSC, Troubleshooting and turning of control loops, servicing and calibration of various field instruments for pressure , temperature, level and flow measurements and control valves with accessories. Good PC knowledge. The candidate should have a Diploma in Instrument Engineering or equivalent with 5 years experience from process industry, preferably from an Ammonia / Urea fertilizer complex.

8. INSTRUMENT TECHNICIANS - WORKSHOP

The candidate should have experience in industrial instrument servicing and calibration of process instrumentation and control valve and work at fertilizer , Petrochemical , Refinery or Chemical plants. He shall be familiar with all type of control valves overhauling, coupling and de-coupling, dismantling, and installation of bracket, tubes and act. Knowledge of control valves specification, other control valves manuals documentation and familiar with computer. Ability to assist support, to lead a contractors group, of technicians during unforeseen and planned shutdown.

The candidates should have a minimum education of Diploma in Instrument Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in industrial instrument workshop fieldwork. Must have taken training for safety awareness in chemical plant environment.

9. MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN - FIELD

The position is responsible for the independent overhaul and maintenance of rotating equipment, stationery equipment, sea water pumps, heat exchangers, piping, valves, vessels, heat exchangers, boilers and allied items. The position holder should be a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and have minimum 5 years in a similar position from a large chemical plant, preferably Ammonia / Urea Fertilizer Plant. Knowledge about chemical plants safety aspects is required and computer skills is an advantage.

10. MECHANICAL TECHNICIANS-COMPRESSOR HOUSE

The candidate will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of rotating equipment. He should have a minimum of 5 years experience in the maintenance of heavy frames gas turbines and Aerodeevative Gas Generators (Rolls Royce Avons). Experience in steam turbines centrifugal compressors is an advantage. He should have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with specialization or additional courses in rotating equipments. Knowledge about chemical plants safety aspects is required and computer skills is an advantage.

11. MECHANICAL TECHNICIANS - POWER STATION

The position is responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair and trouble shooting of rotating equipments, with minimum 5 years experience in the maintenance of heavy frames gas turbines and Aerodeevative Gas Generators (Rolls Royce Avons). Experience in steam turbines and centrifugal compressors is an advantage, plus Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with specialization or additional courses in rotating equipments. Knowledge about chemical plants safety aspects is required and computer skills is an advantage.

12. CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR - ELECTRICAL PROJECTS

The candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the construction and commissioning phase of on-line and S / D investment projects executed by contractors, and also to construct in-house project installation. He will also be responsible to supervise groups of construction personnel, handle all activities related to project execution, procurement of non-standard / standard materials, construction supervision and documentation of site works. He should also carry out drafting work, design calculations based on standard codes and practices and also independently execute projects. He should have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 12 years of experience in industrial project development within an oil / gas or petrochemical industry and well experienced in preparing drawings by computer aided design.
